Back in the year 1992 I first opened my eyes into our world and ever since, my curiosity towards it never stopped. Surrounded by musicians and classical movies I unwinded myself into the artistic fields subconsciously. At the age of six, I could hear Hitchcock's soundtracks playing in my mind while I would imagine myself dancing next to Fred Astaire or singing with Marylin Monroe. After watching The Rear Window, like Cary Grant, I wanted to seek out the world behind lenses. It first started with some binoculars exploring the beauty of nature in the middle of the French Alpes to end up in a complete different scenery in the south of Spain, Málaga. After this drastic cultural change, I soon discovered the benefit of art while one tries to adapt best to her new environment.
Years went by and after finishing my baccalaureate I got admitted into Audiovisual Comunication University studies in Málaga with a brand new Nikon D7000 camera under my arm. After discovering the technicalities of cinema and photography, my perspective began to extend and I would learn that a lot of practice and patience would be required in order to achieve my goals. Upon finishing my university studies, with my knowledge being far too theoretical, I decided to start working freelance in small short-film projects. I was first fascinated with the production design department, yet this one was nonexistent in Spanish cinema so I started with the position that felt closest to it, that being art direction. After some experience in three different short-films and one fashion advertisement, I felt the need of switching my position towards a wider creative role. Somehow a dysfunctional 2010 DSLR in 2017 made it quite limiting.
Unable to produce financially any project, I started working in the tourism industry which was easier to do given my location and my personal ability with languages. After my first season, my wages allowed me to finance the music video "Una Noche", the first project I got to direct with the help of two fantastic colleagues. At that time, I didn't own any video tools in order to film, nor a computer operative enough to do the trick for editing. Thus, during two more years I kept showing the beauty of Andalucía to world travelers, and eventually had enough savings to get the basic equipment in order to shoot videos and learn for myself. Ever since, I have been able to make a short-film and another music video. I am now looking forward to keep seeking the world behind my lenses and share the experience with others in order to create new enriching projects.
